Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley has split from her boyfriend of two years, Jamie Dornan.Friends said the 20-year-old "shed a river of tears" after her romance with the Irish model ended.
A friend said: "Keira's gutted. She really thought what she and Jamie had was love but it just wasn't meant to be.
"They both wanted it to work but in the end it was just untenable. They were having crisis talks on an almost daily basis but the decision was reached to finally call it a day."
The break-up was blamed on the pair's punishing schedules as 22-year-old Dornan, who is in a new production of Marie-Antoinette, spent his time chasing the dream to become an actor.
