It was a smile that Kylie Minogue fans had been waiting to see.In the first public sighting in Europe of the mega-star since she started a gruelling regime of chemotherapy, a beaming Minogue proved she's determined to beat the disease.
The 37-year-old singer is just as determined to become a mother one day and has undergone a procedure to have slivers of her ovaries extracted and frozen.
A couple of hours' shopping in the Chloe store in Paris this week with her Mum Carol appeared to be just what the doctor ordered.
The pair ventured out for a relaxing afternoon exploring the streets of the French capital.
Kylie flew into the city two weeks ago for the next stage of treatment for breast cancer.
She is staying at the home of her French boyfriend, Olivier Martinez, while she has a chemotherapy sessions.
The afternoon out ended with a quiet meal at a bistro.
"She was looking very bubbly and full of energy," said an onlooker.
"She was laughing and smiling, but keeping a low profile, and being fairly discreet. She seemed very absorbed in her shopping. Her mother was at her side."
Kylie was diagnosed with cancer in May as she holidayed in her home town, Melbourne.
A lumpectomy to remove the cancer was successful, but she required two further operations. Chemotherapy is now needed to ensure no traces of cancer remain.
Last month the pop star's sister, Dannii Minogue, revealed that Kylie is expected to make a full recovery.
Dannii said Kylie had received a positive prognosis and was responding better than expected to her treatment.
"She's going to be fine. She's really lucky her cancer has been treatable. She's getting better by the day. I can't wait to see her back on her feet. She's inspirational, she's a fighter," Dannii said.
Kylie's postponed Showgirl tour is yet to be rescheduled.
