Steve Carell was apparently on the "Today Show" recently and talked about why the feature remake of GET SMART has been stuck in production hell for the better part of this century. He also offered quite an interesting little nugget of info about who he thinks should play Agent 99. Here's what he said:"It's taken so long to do because they want to get it right - we don't want another Bewitched…they're going to dress me up like him, and yes, there will be similiar mannerisms…but I'm not even going to try and do his voice - it was unique. He was unique. [Concerning who will play '99'] Young, let's go young - I like Kristin Kreuk of Smallville, and I know Jennifer Love Hewitt. I've talked to Kristin - she's keen. We'll see. All I can say is I like 'em young, beautiful and hanging off me. I mean, of course, Maxwell Smart does."
Carell also mentioned interest in Kreuk on some radio show in Australia, which officially makes him one of the coolest people in Hollywood. Kristin Kreuk? She's perfect. For anything. And if you don't think so, you're wrong. And ugly. With weird teeth. Sorry, I get petty and immature when I'm talking about scaringly perfect women.
