Think spooky The Sixth Sense meets 80's tearjerker Ghost and Ghost Whisperer is a happy medium (pardon the pun) between the two.Seven's new series starring I Know What You Did Last Summer's Jennifer Love Hewitt really does know as she proves the dead have an annoying habit of hanging around.
The series was inspired by the cases of psychic James Van Praagh and revolves around newlywed Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) as she marshalls the lost souls to their rightful resting places.
In the first episode, Melinda is contacted by a dead soldier who was classified MIA in 1972. She struggles with the man's sceptical son to provide closure for the tortured soul.
If you're a big fan of Crossing Over with John Edward, you'll warm to this spooky 'investigative' series that delivers large helpings of drama and heart.
It may be too cheesy for some, but if you have lost someone, it is comforting to know Melinda Gordon's around to usher them into the afterlife and restore balance to the cosmos.
The show also stars Aisha Tayler (CSI) as Andrea and David Conrad (Relativity) as Melinda's husband. Special guests in the pilot episode are Wentworth Miller and Balthazar Getty.
