They're unrivalled teen queens with business brains and looks that make them among the most photographed celebrities on the planet, but some subjects are definitely off limits when meeting Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Questioning the 19-year-old twins about personal health issues or their romantic involvements is definitely out.

Play the PR game however and you'll find two charmers who love what they do on duty and strive to switch off when they're not.

"We don't really like our photos being taken when we're not working," Ashley said during an exclusive interview yesterday.

"Over the weekend here we had about 20 photographers at the airport and we'd just got off a flight.

"Then they write a headline like we're miserable and so upset to be here. We couldn't be happier to be here [but] when you're being attacked after a 16-hour plane flight, that's not nice."

Back on the clock, the sisters turned it on, animatedly discussing their mary-kateandashley fashion label, upcoming independent film projects and their shared taste in music and clothes.

They even broke their own rule and ventured out for a late dinner at Icebergs on Sunday night following their Luna Park fashion show.

"Usually when we're working we just stay in the hotel, but it was really nice," Ashley said.

In the meantime, they're about to appear in an advertising campaign for US label Badgley Mischka, the first time the siblings have lent their image to another brand.

And putting paid to suggestion they are demanding, the sisters said they travel with minimal entourage - on this visit they have brought only the CEO and executive vice president of their company Dualstar Entertainment Group - preferring to employ local security, hair and make-up artists.

Not that they travel light.

"We packed a lot of little dresses because it's so warm here and a lot of skinny Tsubi jeans," Ashley said.

Mary-Kate and Ashley plan to take a few days off before heading back to New York later this week.
