Oscar winner Charlize Theron has joked she would move to Scotland because she has discovered a love of whisky.The Hollywood superstar shunned LA-style skinny lattes and cosmopolitan cocktails in favour of a drop of whisky before her appearance at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
But the actress enjoyed the nip so much, she ordered another glass on stage in front of the sell-out audience.
The A-list celebrity joked: "There's something so wrong about this. This would never happen in America. I'm moving to Scotland!"
Theron was given a spontaneous round of applause by the audience as she told them the drink made her talk too much.
But she added: "I like it. I think it's very, very good. I won't be able to walk off the stage but it's good!"
Theron, celebrated for her Academy Award-winning portrayal of real-life serial killer Aileen Wuornos in the film Monster, was discussing her life and career at an interview session at the festival.
She told audiences receiving the Oscar was a great honour.
"It was an incredible experience and I really know how fortunate I am because there are so many great actors out there who have not experienced that," she said.
But she said it would have been useful if her Oscar had been able to get off the shelf to help with the housework.
