Nicole Kidman's US publicist has accused a Sydney picture agency of doctoring photographs of the Hollywood star to make her appear pregnant.

The set of images - which show the actress sporting a slightly rounded stomach while holidaying with her parents in Canada - were hawked to ACP title Woman's Day this week for an estimated $15,000 and are expected to be published next week.

Locally, the deal was done through the picture agency of infamous Sydney paparazzi Jamie Fawcett, but the international publication of the images have prompted Kidman's US rep, Catherine Olim, to question their authenticity.

"I'm afraid they wasted their money," Olim said.

"(Kidman's) not pregnant. Incidentally, I'm virtually certain paparazzi are distorting photos to make her look pregnant," Olim added.

"I've seen her, she's her regular slender self."

While tales of Kidman's alleged pregnancy have been circulating across the weekly titles for months, the latest set are the first to have prompted a vehement denial from the Kidman's US camp.

As reports of Olim's extraordinary outburst hit the mainstream US media yesterday, both Fawcett and Woman's Day editor Alana House defended the controversial images.

"It is absolutely ludicrous to think we would sell doctored pictures," Fawcett said.

"There is definitely a bump there - we're leaving it up to our readers to decide," House said, adding she did not believe the shots had been manipulated in any way.
