Rumour has it, The Break Up, starring Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston has become a self-fulfilling prophecy.US Weekly is leading its latest issue with Aniston, 37, on the cover with the words: "Split! Vince takes back the $US500,000 engagement ring as the couple suddenly cools. What went wrong, who's to blame and how Jen's coping."
"It's not common knowledge, but we're not together anymore," Vaughn reportedly told one of the gossip mag's spies on September 13. "We've split up," he added, saying they did the deed over a lengthy telephone call.
Vaughn proposed to Aniston on June 27 with a "$US500,000, 9.5-carat canary yellow diamond", but things reportedly went downhill shortly thereafter.
Vaughn, 36, is reportedly now in London to begin work on his latest comedy flick, Joe Claus.
A friend of Aniston's told the magazine: "They're 100 per cent done."
Vaughn and Aniston formed a friendship after Brad Pitt left Aniston to form a new life with Angelina Jolie. Aniston married Pitt on July 29, 2000. The two separated on January 7, 2005, and Aniston officially filed for divorce on March 25, 2005. The divorce was finalised on October 2, 2005.
