Paris Hilton should face jail and be forced to wear an alcohol bracelet when released for violating the terms of her probation for an alcohol-related reckless driving conviction, prosecutors say.In court documents filed on April 30 in Los Angeles prosecutors sad Hilton should be jailed for 45 days. They also want the socialite to be required to stay away from alcohol for 90 days and wear a monitoring device to prove she's sober.
The recommendations will be reviewed by a judge when Hilton appears in court for a probation violation hearing on Friday.
Hilton was arrested on September 7 for reckless driving. In January she pleaded no contest to the charges. She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $US1500 ($1822) in fines.
On January 15 Hilton was again pulled over by police. Officers informed her she was driving on a suspended licence and according to court papers, she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive.
On February 27 Hilton was again pulled over by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies for speeding and driving without headlights. She was then charged with violating her probation.
Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time that she was not aware her licence had been suspended.
But prosecutors will argue that by signing the document Hilton knew she was not allowed to drive.
They also claim that as of April 17 Hilton had yet to enroll in the alcohol education program.
"These violations demonstrate Hilton's disregard for the vehicle laws of this state as well as for the conditions of her probation," the court filing said.
"This court should... include imprisonment as a condition of reinstating her probation."
