TV Show Ties Byrne To LA

Having successfully conquered the big screen, Australian actress Rose Byrne is joining the ranks of home-grown film stars turning their attentions to the box.The Sydney starlet will be beaming her way into lounge rooms across America after US cable TV network FX announced it had picked up the pilot to the legal drama Damages.
Byrne will share the screen with Hollywood legend Glenn Close in the character-driven series, which centers around a beautiful attorney fresh out of law school who lands her dream job working for America's foremost litigator.
The FX network this week announced July 24 as the premiere of the upcoming series, while locally Channel 9 has picked up the program as part of its 2008 schedule.
While the green light has been given to the big-name drama, it may hold up Byrnes' plans to relocate to London with her actor-writer boyfriend Brendan Cowell, as the stylish star will be required to be based in LA for the series.
