Her striking looks and talents as a racing driver, polo player and golfer earned her a reputation as a glamorous, clean-living tomboy. Her easy access to the highest of high society events in the jet-set world gave Jodie Kidd an enviable lifestyle.
Until now. Yesterday the 186cm model who counts Princes William and Harry among her friends woke up to find herself facing extraordinary allegations she helped supply cocaine and regularly took the class A drug.
She is also accused of trying to trade on her royal connections to get a business venture up and of making unflattering comments of the royals, including calling Prince Philip "mad".
Kidd, is alleged to have openly discussed drugs at a business meeting in a Central London restaurant.
But the men the 28-year-old model thought investors in a polo club she is trying to set up were reporters.
Yesterday the News of the World claimed Kidd offered to get cocaine for the "businessmen", arranging for 3g to be delivered.
Asked if the drug was "good quality", she allegedly replied: "I'd do it. I'm not going to do s..t. It's not the best, but it's what we can do at half past 12 at night."
Kidd also claimed Victoria Beckham "kind of attached herself" to her when they met at a fashion event, and called fellow model Naomi Campbell a "f..king monster."
Richard Thompson, boss of Kidd's management company Merlin Elite, which secured her contracts with Marks & Spencer, TMobile, sportswear firm Hi-Tec and designer Tommy Hilfiger, said: "We are not commenting at this stage."
