The bad news just got worse for young Disney star Vanessa Hudgens, the teen star at the centre of a nude picture scandal - she is being sued by her lawyer amid rumours of a split with her High School Musical co-star Zac Efron.

The teen star's squeaky clean reputation was stripped bare, literally, after a nude photograph of her - meant for Efron - was posted on the internet.

And now come reports the pair have split in the wake of the controversy, which broke during their recent trip to Australia.

The couple reportedly broke up this week after Efron confronted Hudgens about reports she had been "all over" another, older man at a Hollywood party while he was still in Europe promoting the new Disney film.

To make her troubles even worse, Hudgens is now being sued.

According to court papers obtained by Access Hollywood, a former lawyer for the 18-year-old star says she owes him $150,000 in legal fees.

The lawsuit, filed by Brian L. Schall in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, alleges a breach of contract and unjust enrichment by the 18-year-old Hudgens.

“Perhaps Vanessa Hudgens … needs to go back to school to learn a very basic lesson in contractual obligations,” Schall states in the lawsuit.

The suit claims Hudgens and Schall entered into a written contract for legal services in October 2005.

According to the suit, Schall claims he advanced costs and expenses on Hudgens’ behalf for her songwriting and recording career.

A representative for Hudgens was not available for comment.

In better news for Hudgens, Ugly Betty star Vanessa Williams - whose own career was threatened by a nude scandal - offered her support yesterday.

Williams, who was forced to give up her Miss America crown in 1984 after racy images of the star appeared in Penthouse magazine, believes the teen actress will bounce back.

The 44-year-old actress and singer told People.com: "She's got talent and she's professional, and those are the things that'll help her survive in life.

"You know, welcome to the lesson of hard knocks. She got her first big one right now.

"I met her and she's a very sweet, talented girl and I've seen High School Musical 2 a zillion times because of my kids ... and she'll be fine."
