Megan Gale's working relationship with Channel Nine has been thrown into jeopardy by the interview the A Current Affair aired with the Aussie supermodel on Monday night.

Gale is understood to have felt disappointed and exploited by the angle the program took with the interview, which was heavily promoted to be a bitchy battle of the babes - with Gale attacking her Myer rival Jennifer Hawkins.

While the initial purpose of the interview had been to publicise Gale's popular suncream product Invisible Zinc, the piece resulted in the David Jones darling looking like she was ranting about her constant comparisons to Hawkins.

Confidential understands the leggy brunette was less than pleased about the nasty angle of the segment - billed as an exclusive - with her publicity team even attempting to have the ACA promos pulled over the weekend.

Gale is believed to have been particularly hurt by the depiction because she has a professional relationship with ACA, having appeared as a guest reporter on the program on several occasions.

Despite Nine's hyped Gale vs Hawkins cat(walk) fight, rival network Seven's Today Tonight still won the national ratings across the hour.
